Chocolate Club was founded in 2002 and was one of the first places where conscious clubbing and cacao came together. From the beginning, it has always been about 0% alcohol, 100% spirit — a celebration of life, full of dance, superfoods, saunas, hot tubs, ice baths, workshops, and ceremonies.

Today, we organize events like Ecstatic Dance Festival Holland and Het Grote Fijne Festival.
But whether it’s a big festival or an intimate club night:
we create a space to relax, connect, and celebrate life — exactly as you are.

Our Mission

At Chocolate Club, we believe that health, connection, and celebration go hand in hand. Since 2002, we have been organizing conscious gatherings, ceremonies, and festivals that bring people together to dance, heal, and enjoy — alcohol-free, but full of energy, joy, and real connection.

We aim to create a movement that makes health contagious — a space where people feel free to be themselves, to relax, recharge, and celebrate life.
Our events offer moments to gather, dance, breathe, feel, and connect — with yourself and with others.

Besides our events, we offer high-quality organic cacao and pure natural scents, designed to deepen your rituals and moments of connection at home.

Whether you’re dancing at one of our festivals, joining a ceremony, or enjoying a cup of cacao in your own space — we invite you to celebrate life fully, with all that you are.

The Chocolate Club Timeline

2002
Establishment of Chocolate Club
Chocolate Club was created by Keung Man and Bastiaan Swager and Remy Draaijer: the first cocoa ceremonies organized in the Netherlands.

Along with other culinary experts & raw food coaches, were chef Jeramaya van de Sterren, Gaja Beukers, Roell Kerkhout and 'Raw-Chocolatier' Shanour Moens were also key driving forces during the early years of the Chocolate Club.

Chocolate Club stood for promoting superfoods, raw food, superfood smoothies - with cocoa in particular - and a conscious and healthy lifestyle in general. The terms raw food and superfoods, which came over from the U.S., were still alien to the general Dutch bourgeois consciousness at the time (No, we don't mean raw meat and anabolics!). Even "barefoot dancing" sounded all too floaty to many an ear back then.

Conscious Clubnights
In 2004, Chocolate Club began the first Chocolate Clubnights, also known as "Conscious clubbing," meaning without alcohol. For over a year this was organized monthly and in various places. After this, Mirror Centre became our home where we could grow for several years in a very nice way and bring the community together.

Opening superfood store
Around this time, the superfood store opened where several Chocolate Club parties were also held - this place is now known as the Jordaan Healthclub.

Club Lite
We made the move to Club Lite, where Chocolate Club was then transferred to Jens van den Akker (2012).

2018
Het Grote Fijne Festival
In collaboration with well-known DJ Kareem Raïhani, we organized our very first Het Grote Fijne Festival New Year's Eve Party, with great success! This has been the birth of The Great Fine Festival.

Start multi-day festivals
This year, for the first (and immediately two) multi-day conscious gatherings organized Ecstatic Dance Festival Holland and Het Grote Fijne Festival. Over the years, the community has grown organically into the gatherings as they are today.

Opening of the Chocolate Club online store
This year we will start selling our own cocoa products! Keep an eye on the website for the opening of our shop.
